SPORT INFLUENCE ON MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM

In this article review of the literature concerning the infl uence of diff erent sport disciplines and intensity of workouts on seminal parameters and sex hormone levels has been presented. Sport is inseparable element of healthy lifestyle and benefi ts of physical activity are indisputable. Lack of physical activity and associated obesity have negative infl uence on male reproductive potential. Unfortunately also too intense workouts can lead to hormonal imbalance, worsening the quality of semen. Th is paper also have been discussed genitourinary injuries which occur in athletes, especially cyclists and equestrians. In this article potential causes of fertility disorders among competitive athletes has been shown. Th e problem of male infertility should be an area of interest not only andrologists but also urologists, endocrinologists and sports medicine doctors.
